Farm knife use

I’m so happy with my purchase. Will definitely use for my farming project. This is my third purchase of different types of Ontario knives.

sp 10 raider bowie

Sturdy and heavy
grinds asymmetrical
65% on one side 35% on the other makes for a skew profile and bent clip point section with hardening ( I presume )as evident on my sample.
Lack of quality control that is putting USA products on the same level as certain Asian countries.
very disappointing compared to my Rat 7's from 2015 to 2019.
The makers name is put on with golden color lettering while the catalogue shows silver?

OKC's Quality Control Has Gone Way Downhill

This is a good knife. It's a strong chopper, with a great grip, & a great MOLLE compatible sheath w/ hard polymer insert (despite what some say). OKC lowered the carbon steel type from 1095 to 1075. While less expensive steel, that doesn't personally bother me, because I feel 1075 is a better steel type for the intended use of this knife. It's supposed to be a tough chopper, not fighting knife. Unfortunately, my knife arrived so dull, I can't even cut paper w/ it. I can't cut my fingers either, even when I slide them along the blade w/ pressure. I'm sure if I applied enough pressure, they'd eventually get cut. That's not the point. A $60 knife shouldn't arrive w/ such a poor factory edge, that the user has to spend hours sharpening before use. It's poor quality control, & purposeful cost cutting. I can only recommend this knife if you have quality sharpening equipment, & you know what you're doing. You can't just expect to take it camping after it arrives. It requires work first. To note, I emailed OKC about the full factory edge, & asked if they could help me out. They never got back to me, & no one answers their customer service number. They make you leave a message, but they never call you back. I'm unimpressed w/ the company.

Review after 10 years

So I got this knife after Nutnfancy did a review on youtube around 10 years ago. I have done some serious chopping with this thing and I have sharpened it several times. No major issues or complaints. It has taken everything I have thrown its way. I thought about getting a RAT 7 but thought why? This thing handles it all. If you get it, you wont be disappointed. This description says its 1075 steel and when I got it I am pretty sure it was 1095.
