The Aircrew Survival Egress Knife or ASEK
Ontario Knife Company is one of the few remaining American bayonet manufacturers and the sole source of the combat deployed OKC3S bayonet. Complementing our legacy of military issued bayonets, which include the M9 and the storied M7, Ontario Knife's tactical blades include the Air Warrior Program's ASEK survival knife, the Freedom Fighter, OKC's Kukri, and the Navy-issued Mark III.
I have used the ASEK in the Badlands of Montana for years. My group has federal permits with Bureau of Land Management to find and excavate fossilized dinosaur bones. This knife is used to dig through dirt, cut canvas, rope, roots and at one point used it for self defense (nasty rattlesnake). I carry this knife on all my Paleontology and Archaeology adventures. Highly recommend this tool.
I purchased my ASEK a few years ago and soon wondered why I did so it ended up in my shed, mistake. After another child locally was left is a hot car and died, I thought whoa! I have the perfect tool that needs to be in my truck all the time. This knife is the perfect rescue tool that takes up no room and with the butt I am sure I can smash out a window and this ASEK is so well made a motivated person no doubt could pierce a vehicle roof for venting, really. What else could you want?
