I wanted a bigger type knife, so I did a little google homework and came across this product (M-9). There were other options on the m9 bayonets by different brands like smithnwessen. But my ultimate deciding factor was that if it was durable enough for the Army, it's good enough for me. Placed the order and got it the next day. The blade is thick, like a chopper; quarter inch thick. Standard sharpness. but that can always be modified. The handle has a good grip and feels great in my hand. It works in tandem with the scabbard to act as wire cutters, although I don't see myself using it for that. The scabbard is tough, thick sorta industrial type hard plastic. Don't foresee either the blade or scabbard breaking unless you smash it hard with a sledgehammer a couple times maybe. I'm not disappointed. thought the both the other reviews were a bit harsh. There are all different types of knives made for different purposes. Do your homework first according to the reason you want to buy a knife for. This knife is sturdy with a 7" blade. I wish they would have thrown in a stone sharpener to attach to the scabbard. Thanks OKC!
