Bad experience...

I bought this knife thinking that it was going to be good usa quality. When I got it home and out of the packaging, a quick look at the blade i found the edge was ground off center. I fixed it on my sharpening stone but it took some hours. Next the handle was loose. Don't seem to want to tighten all the way. I guess I bought a project knife.

Disappointing

Worst knife I've ever bought for my collection, crooked blade with a big deviation on the right.

Complete tragedy, they should be ashamed of themselves !!

After receiving a defective knife, a few days later I decided to bet once more on the RAT-7 model and made a second purchase, as my first one had a bent blade, as well as a crooked edge and completely poorly made.

To my surprise I received the second copy in worse condition than the first. Now I have a completely crooked and misaligned blade, in addition to having a much smaller thickness blade than the first knife. Blade Thickness 0.19" on the knife manufactured in 2022 and 0.188" on the knife manufactured in 2023. In addition to the 2023 model having an extremely thinner and more fragile tip.

A complete disgrace, the manufacturer should be ashamed of themselves for putting such defective products on sale. A complete disrespect to the consumer.

In short, Ontario products made in China are much better quality than Ontario products made in the United States. I repeat, completely disgraceful.

In my first purchase I received a knife manufactured in June 2022 and the second knife I bought was manufactured in February 2023, both are rubbish and were purchased at an official dealer.

Should improve quality control and make sure products are up to the quality standards.

The knife arrived with the micarta very dirty, stained and full of black grease, this could irritate anyone who is buying it as a collector.

The blade is crooked and the edge is also crooked, they need to improve the quality standard a lot.

Positive points:
• The blade is thicker than the Esee 6 model, it also has a longer length, allowing it to be used to open paths in vegetation much more easily.
• The micarta grip is very similar to the one used by the Esee, only a little more square. I still prefer the Ontario grip because it is wider, improving the grip of those with medium and large hands.

Negative points:
• The epoxy treatment of the blade is not as good as that used by Esee.
• The steel used is no longer 1095, but 1075 which is inferior, but for some strange reason Ontario says it is a better option, but that doesn't seem logical in any way other than to reduce costs.
• The sheath is horribly bad, they should already be working with Kydex, even if that translates into a higher price for the customer.
