Lightweight sharp and handy.
Bought under the false pretenses of an advertisement I saw as a truly made in the USA knife. Big disappointment. Wish I had my shipping and Order info to return.
If it’s not rubbing, don't cry! I have two. One is not centered perfect but it has a drastic look of it not being centered. It’s far from rubbing though. one also didn’t engage with a light flick. Here’s the fix- Flick it hard a few times until it engages. Then carefully pinch the blade and pull it back into the stop pin while pushing the lock bar further onto the tange interface. Then lightly spine tap/whack it a few times carefully keeping fingers out of blade path by pinching the sides of the knife only. Repeat these steps a few more time. You’ll get 10-20% lock up at first. While watching tv engage and disengage lock by hand pushing the bar into place a few dozen time.
Functions great. Only downside was I contacted customer service prior to purchase in regards to hopefully purchasing a Shikra with a centered blade (since the pivot screw is free-spinning and difficult to adjust). I opted to purchase directly from OKC instead of an online knife dealer for that specific reason.
The only response I received from Lisa stating "All of our knives are inspected by QA before they leave our facility..."
If there is a chance there are Shikras that have centered blades, I will be happy to purchase another in the future, as I gave my off-centered one away since I could not remedy the issue on my own.
Other than that, the knife opens and closes a lot better than the Besra.
Not a bad little knife for the price. Steel is good and the Micarta Scales feel nice. The weight is nice in the hand.
