THE Ontario Ranger® Kerambit eod From ONTARIO KNIFE COMPANY®

An Ancient Blade Design Well Suited for both Combat and Utility

If you’re looking for a blade that is built for battle, you’ll find it in the Ontario Ranger Kerambit EOD from Ontario Knife Company®.  The entire Ontario Ranger line was built to withstand combat deployment in the most unforgiving terrain on the planet, and the Kerambit more than lives up to this billing. Designed for OKC® by US Special Operations veteran Justin Gingrich, the Kerambit is the perfect self-defense option for military, law enforcement, and civilian use.

“The Kerambit EOD is based on a 13th century Southeast Asian blade design,” said designer Justin Gingrich, founder of Ranger Knives, which became the Ontario Ranger line. “Kerambit translates as ‘claw of the tiger’ and can be used with a traditional forward grip or with a reverse grip fighting style.”

The full-tang Kerambit is made from a ¼-inch thick 5160-carbon alloy steel blade and an incredibly durable machined micarta handle. It is 7.5 inches overall with a 3-inch blade that is powder coated to protect the metal from the elements. Designed specifically for the US Marine Corps EOD unit operating down range, the Kerambit features a pommel ring with jimping to the bottom of the ring and the rear of the blade to provide for maximum purchase. The Kerambit includes a Kydex® belt loop sheath that is MOLLE compatible. It is truly The Knife You Need When You Need a Knife®.

ONTARIO KNIFE COMPANY® ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THE OKC®Cerberus

Featuring Full-Tang D2 Steel Blade, the OKC Cerberus is Built to Get You Through Hell and Back

Not all knives are created equal – there are certainly few that can stand up against the strength, razor-sharp edge, and performance of Ontario Knife Company’s new OKC Cerberus. Named after the mythical three-headed beast that guarded the gates of Hades, this knife not only has a bark, but it handles tactical, hunting, and camping tasks with equal amounts of bite. All told, the OKC Cerberus is a blade that will get you through hell and back, if needed.

“The OKC Cerberus represents the next step in our product development,” observed Deneb Pirrone, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for OKC. “The full-tang, overbuilt fixed blade that defined OKC’s tactical line for the past 25 years now comes with a modern, elegant look.”

The OKC Cerberus measures 10.2-inches overall with a 4.8-inch blade that is ideally sized for a wide range of tactical and utility applications. OKC designed the Cerberus as a catch-all knife that will perform expected – and unexpected – duties at a very high level. The blade material is D2, a tool steel used in manufacturing to cut other steels. So, yes, it’s strong. Plus, with a blade hardness of 57-59 HRC, it retains a razor edge much longer than most other types of steel.

THE ONTARIO KNIFE COMPANY® ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF AN ADVANCED

FABRICATION DIVISION: JERICHO™ TOOL

The Former President of Robinson Fiddlers Green Joins OKC® Leadership Team to Manage Expansion into New InjectionMolding, Tool and Die, Machining, and OEM Business Lines

American knife and tool maker Ontario Knife Company continues to roll out its previously announced capital investment project with more exciting news—the dramatic expansion of its manufacturing portfolio to include plastic injection molding, tool and die making, and precision machining capabilities. The new processes are part of a recently established division, Jericho Tool, and both support existing operations and provide OEM manufacturing services for a wide range of products and industries. The enhanced capabilities facilitate the development of new products and allows OKC to fabricate plastic handles and sheathes in-house.

Along with the launch of the new division, OKC is excited to report the hiring of veteran industry executive David Fenske as Sales Director and head of Jericho Tool. Fenske is responsible for a sales portfolio including the business development of the Jericho Tool division, working in tandem with the sales & marketing, operations, engineering, and manufacturing teams at OKC. Fenske reports directly to Deneb Pirrone, OKC’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

“Ontario Knife continues to invest in the resources and people needed to grow the business,” said Kenneth Trbovich, President and CEO of Ontario Knife Company. “The Jericho Tool division gives OKC the scale to manufacture our products more efficiently and the scope to reach a wide range of new markets and customers.”

The equipment secured for the Jericho Tool division includes a wide range of injection molding presses from 44 ton to 220 ton, RAM EDM and CNC milling machines, sonic sealing and assembly capabilities, lathes, presses, grinders, and other manufacturing equipment along with OKC’s new fully equipped quality assurance lab.  The equipment is located at OKC’s newly expanded Franklinville, New York facility. The co-location will allow OKC to combine Jericho’s engineering and quality assurance functionality with the broad scope of OKC’s existing manufacturing capabilities to build and maintain molds in house as well as perform contract machining of plastic and metal components as an OEM.

“Jericho Tool is taking Ontario Knife Company into new and exciting directions,” said Fenske. “The metal and plastic fabrication capabilities of the Jericho division now produces everything from machined components to molded products for the consumer, commercial, food service, military, and aerospace markets.”

Ontario Knife Company® Introduces the Black Bird SK-4 – The Award-Winning Black Bird Line Welcomes a Compact Addition

ONTARIO KNIFE COMPANY® INTRODUCES THE BLACK BIRD SK-4 The Award-Winning Black Bird Line Welcomes a Compact Addition Building on the success of the Black Bird line, Ontario Knife Company (OKC®) is proud to introduce the OKC Black Bird SK-4. Every experienced outdoorsman knows the importance of saving as much weight and space as possible; to that end, the new SK-4 provides a compact variant on an already award-winning design. “In keeping with my design ideals of simplicity and pure function, the SK-4 employs the same materials, blade geometry and smooth radius handles as its bigger brother, the SK-5. Scaling it down by removing an inch of blade and an inch of handle allows the tool to be more at home in lightweight applications like backpacking and bug out,” said Paul Scheiter, designer of the Black Bird series. “The blade itself is also slightly thinner, which translates to easier carving. If there’s one thing you’ll miss when comparing it to the SK-5, it’s the generous blade length for batoning. That said, the SK-4 retains 90% of the capability while going to a much more compact tool.” The fixed blade, full-tang Black Bird SK-4 has an overall length of 8-inches with a 4-inch blade, compared to the 10-inch overall and 5-inch blade of the original SK-5. Scheiter’s design features a spear-point profile that is sleek and exceptionally resistant to breakage. The ergonomic shape of the handle is complimented by mildly textured G10 scales that deliver comfort during prolonged use. Hunters will like the size of the Black Bird SK-4 for its versatility as a field dressing knife and a survival tool. The sharp edge allows for precision work while the 154CM stainless steel will stand up to hard use and exposure to the elements. For the bushcraft and camping crowd, the SK-4 excels at carving, food preparation and creating feather sticks for a fire. The 90-degree angle on the spine also excels at striking ferrocerium-based fire starting devices. “For me, the Black Bird line symbolizes high quality and superior functionality,” observed Deneb Pirrone, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for OKC. “The Black Bird SK-4 is an outdoorsman’s everyday carry.” The Black Bird SK-4 includes a MOLLE compatible nylon sheath with a solid snap to keep the knife firmly in place until it is needed. Like all knives in the Black Bird line, the Black Bird SK-4 is proudly Made-in-the-USA and backed by OKC’s lifetime warranty. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $229.95. Founded in 1889, the Ontario Knife Company® is an award-winning knife, cutlery, and tool manufacturer operating out of Upstate New York for over 125 years. OKC® produces a wide range of tools, including cutlery and kitchenware, hunting and fishing knives, machetes, survival and rescue equipment, science and medical tools, and tactical knives. In addition to being a major supplier to the U.S. Armed Forces, OKC leverages a network of distributors, dealers, and major commercial retailers to sell its products nationwide and internationally to over 35 countries. OKC’s custom manufacturing division Jericho Tool®, advances capabilities including a broad-spectrum of injection molding, tool and die, and machining operations to provide white label and OEM manufacturing services for consumer and industrial goods.
